Why You Should Work With Me
My background is in professional writing and traditional media. I studied Professional Writing in university, founded and ran a national magazine in Taiwan, and freelance for print publications regularly. In 2009 I expanded into new media. Since then I’ve developed an award-winning adventure travel blog (the one that you’re reading), built a large and influential social media following, and become a well-known personality in the travel blogging community. I’ve even starred in an episode of a popular international television show about living abroad.
Everything on this website (aside from a some credited photos and guest posts) was created by me. I did my own branding and design. I created marketing strategies, promoted it myself, and I’m constantly growing it. This website, from design to content to marketing, is a showcase for my abilities.
I’ve examined the travel and tourism industry from the outside as a traveler and from the inside working with PR and media. I’ve bought and sold advertisements, pitched editors, and been pitched by writers. I’ve coordinated online campaigns and pitched projects to PR people and tourism boards. There are few aspects of this industry that I haven’t had a hand in. Because of this I’m able examine the problems of travel-related publishers, PR people, and advertisers from a variety of perspectives and find creative solutions. My experience is broad, and so is the range of services that I offer.

Blogger Outreach
Bloggers are not simply writers with their own websites. They’re part of a community. Like any community you have to know the right people and use the proper etiquette within it to succeed . I’ve often found myself telling PR people, “The best thing I can offer you is not my blog, it’s my ability to work with other bloggers.” If a PR person emails a blogger asking for help, the blogger usually wants to be paid. If a blogger emails another blogger asking for help, the blogger will usually be more than happy to lend a hand. It’s not impossible for PR people to gain the assistance of bloggers, even big bloggers, but they need to know how to approach them properly. I can show you how to do that.
