Why You Should Hire Me
I studied Professional Writing in a top Canadian University, edited a national magazine for three years, have worked as a professional writer and editor for since 2003, and have appeared in some of the most respected travel and adventure publications in the business.
I’ve published pretty much every type of travel article there is (samples are provided below) and am well versed in the different forms of writing that have arisen to meet online needs such as linkbait articles, viral content, SEO optimized copy, and product landing pages.
In the age of blogging many people have forgotten that writing is a profession. I strongly believe that writing requires the same degree professionalism that that can be found in others such as medicine, accounting, and engineering. If you work with me, you will always receive clean, clear, well-tailored copy on or before deadline.

Blog and Content Marketing
Content marketing is a new powerful form of marketing that leverages social media and the structure of the web to draw targeted viewers to your website and convert them into customers. Different styles of blog posts are useful for different reasons. Below are a few examples with short descriptions of their purposes.
Viral Content
These posts are designed to appeal to a broad audience and create an emotional reaction that encourages people to share, thus spreading awareness about your website or brand to a wide variety of users.
My most viral post was Professional Travel Tips, which received over 30,000 ‘likes’ on StumbleUpon.
Linkbait Posts
These posts are created in hopes that other websites (especially large news websites) will link to them because incoming links are a vital part of search engine optimization. For example, after the news broke that the popular reality TV show House Hunters was scripted, I wrote a post about my own experience filming an episode of the show and then emailed the authors of online articles on the subject. The result was several links to my website from prominent websites including The Atlantic.
Product Landing Pages
If you’re selling a product online the copy on your product landing page is crucial. A great deal of research has been done on how to create an effective landing page and I’ve read a lot of it. This page is a perfect example. I have used several techniques on this page to maximize the likelihood that you will contact me for a free quote, thus generating a strong lead for my business.
Newsjacking
In newsjacking a writer takes a timely news story and adds their own twist to it, such as an opinion or related information. This brings new users to your website via search engines and often generates backlinks. Take for example this article, which boosted my traffic by 50% for two days and resulted in a link from USA Today.
Opinion Posts
These are posts that state a strong opinion on a controversial subject with the intention of engaging readers in conversation, thus increasing the number of return visitors to your website. The post that I wrote about House Hunters International is also a good example of this type of post.
Rates
My rates are flexible and negotiated on a project-by-project basis. I understand that you’re working with a limited budget and will do my best to come to an agreement that works for us both. For a free quote just send me the basic information about the project that you have in mind and I’ll get back to you right away. Just scroll down to the next section for my contact information.
Get a Free Quote
I’d like to work with you. The first step is to send me an email or call me with information about your project and budget. I’ll send you a free quote for my services within a day or two and we can go from there. Receiving a quote will not oblige you to hire me in any way. I understand that projects have different needs and budgets and I’m not a hardball negotiator. I’m interested in coming to a mutually beneficial arrangement and, hopefully, developing a long-term relationship.
